Web2RSS Proxy allows gathering news from web sites that do not provide RSS feeds of their own. Web2RSS Proxy collects the required information from the selected page of the site and creates an RSS feed from it. Web2RSS Proxy allows for flexible customizations of the channel being created, thanks to its abilities of analyzing the source page. You will be able to browse the the created RSS channels in your favorite RSS reader (including, but not limited to GreatNews, Feedreader, Thunderbird, Opera) Main features: - Support for unlimited number of RSS channels. Web2RSS Proxy allows creating any number of channels with instant access to their description and configuration. - Convenient RSS channel setup procedure. Web2RSS Proxy minimizes user's efforts required for creating a new RSS channel through automatic detection of most of the channel's properties. - Automatic detection and removal of ad blocks on the source page. Web2RSS Proxy automatically skips news items that do not match the specified criteria. - Automatic detection of page design changes. Even when the design of the source web page changes, Web2RSS Proxy detects those changes automatically, and attempts to adapt the channel to them. - Support of RSS Comments API. Web2RSS Proxy allows creating RSS channels with embedded channels for commenting the news. This allows tracking back the comments for the original news items (if your RSS reader supports this feature, like e.g. GreatNews does). - Notification about errors and other essential actions Web2RSS Proxy notifies the user about errors in the channels and other significant actions through popup messages. - Support for sites with restricted access. Web2RSS Proxy allows creating RSS feeds from pages with restricted access, using the system's web browser security subsystem.
